Italian Sun!
It is so beautiful to see this magnificent flower open itself to the sun everyday.
As the sun moves through my yard this flowers head turns gladly to follow it namesake, The Sun!

Warm, soft,full of color and grace this tall gracious flower is like a beacon to the world in it's simple and outstanding beauty. It says behold I am The Sunflower gaze upon my face and you will receive  inner peace.

I love my gardens they truly hold the power of peace and tranquility for me and calm my spirit when it is uneasy.

I hope the Sun flower can do the same for you today.

BLUEBERRY (COFFEE CAKE MUFFINS)!!!!

They say, who they is I guess the experts, but of course since I am a Diva I would follow my stomach first anywhere!
Anyway the opinion is that muffins are now the new Cake!
Cupcakes were all the fad a few months ago, but the old time favorite is pushing that sweet little thing aside and taking it's dominance over it once more!
So taking my lead from what YOU want my customer,This is my new favorite for my final muffin in the July series.

This Blueberry cream muffin taste like a coffee cake in a muffin disguise!
Moist, delicate flavor, full of plump blueberry's,and not overly sweet.
The batter was a combination of half& half cream, cream cheese icing,and a boatload of blueberry's! 
No wonder my girlfriend who was my food guinea pig said oh my that's good.

Gourmet Pumpkin Muffins!

Pumpkin Spice Muffin
Pumpkin Spice and everything nice! 
Creating new flavors for morning muffins is always exciting.
This muffin was no exception.

Here is what I did to make it a little more spectacular.
I took my spice bread recipe + my muffin recipe added some Libby's gourmet pumpkin mix and a touch more pumpkin spice.
Then added a little extra cream to make everything a little more rich.
Combined all the above, blended to creamy and baked in jumbo cupcake liners for 
app. 16 minutes @ 350' 
The result was moist, spicy pumpkin deliciousness!
Finished 1/2 the recipe with turbinado sugar for topping, the other 1/2 got Cream cheese icing for their topping.
I was very pleased with the results and they are available for purchase 
@ Divadish Kitchens.
Baked in small batches of (8) jumbos @ $24.00 which is only $3.00 per muffin for a hand crafted muffin.

Muffins!!

Chocolate & Coffee Muffins.
I love these. Sometimes not being able to sleep can create something new & wonderful!
I created these on Thursday of this week, as I wanted to sample them with a new client I was meeting.
You never know what will come out of your brain @ 3:00Am,, well (3) new flavors of muffins did.
I am very pleased with the results and so were my new clients. 

Now to describe these I would say this.
Combine in your mouth a soft taste of semi sweet chocolate and a mild tasting coffee. 
The balance is sublime and the texture is moist without being too much so.
Add in a small amount of Hershey's chocolate syrup, just to give it added sweetness and you have a combination that speaks volumes in your first bite and afterwards in your mouth and satisfaction.
Hand made each and every one these are made in small batches of (8) jumbo's per pan @ $24.00 per batch.

Desserts!

Chocolate Ecstasy Cake
Divadish Kitchens Loves making new desserts.

This one was one of my all time favorites.

Moist full of chocolate bits, my chocolate gnache icing and also added extra in batter.
This is a totally flour less cake made with garbanzo beans.
No it did not taste Funny, or like vegetables.
It is perfect with any meal, or before,,,,like I like to do....!
Like the Greeks say this one does come bearing gifts, and it's gift is deliciousness!

Summer Salads

Summer Salads
Divadish Kitchens loves to make salads.
They are simple, do not heat up the kitchen and are a satisfying meal.

The pictured salad is a Pear & Blue cheese with Sweet Bell peppers.
I sometimes will add crumbled lean bacon crisps to it for extra protein, or sliced hard boiled eggs.

The dressing I make with this is a dry ground mustard, Italian wine vinegar, dark green olive oil, and sugar to taste. Shake all together all ingredients in a glass jar, and refrigerate any leftovers.

Their are many variations to this summer delight, and I am sure you could probably find a few yourself.

Here are a few I have tried.
  • Apples
  • Candied pecans, raisins, almonds
  • sliced turkey, ham, or chicken
This can be a whole meal like I do it, or it can be served as a side dish to any meat meal. It is a wonderful accompaniment to any dish or as a main course served with my crusty bread & garlic butter.

Red, White & Blue!!!

Today is Independence Day....! We all know what that means.... Food....(:) (:) 
So to continue in this honered tradition I am going to throw my culinary caution to the wind and give you my July 4th's picks....!

Red: My choice a rich Marina sauce simmering slowly for 2-3 days, add lots of Parmesan cheese, feta, and mozzrella.
Serve over  angel hair pasta, add a large italian salad and crusty bread.
Open a bottle of semi sweet red wine, and let the evening unfold perhaps in someones embrace....hubba, hubba...!

White: I will go with my cream cheese icing served layered thickly on my chocolate chunky cupcakes.
Moist , full of chocolate bits and topped with a creamy icing of cream cheese and white cream what could be better except________!

Blue all over are you ): ):):( because you forgot to call Divadish Kitchens to order your July 4th feast>
But don't be all Sad Faced, Chef Gianna can come to your rescue, and turn your ): into a Smile(: as fast as you can say Jack Robinson.... ! Or what are the kids saying these days Justin Beeber....!
