How to Prevent Diabetes?

Diabetes Prevention? Written by Suzy Cohen
Licensed pharmacist for over 22 years

Excerpts reprinted by Divadish Personal Chef Services

What is the number one thing I can do to prevent diabetes?

Avoid WHITE!!!! Meaning white salt, white sugar, white flour. White flour is particularly offensive because it contains a compound known to harm the pancreas- the very gland you need for a healthy blood sugar balance because it secretes Insulin!

How does this happen? the pancreas has two parts the Head and the Stern so to speak, the Head part is the part that releases insulin into our bodies when we feed our bodies, giving Us our body's energies. The Stern or back end of the pancreas is where the Enzymes are released to break down the foods so we can digest and absorb them.

Without these working together properly we do not maintain healthy bodies.

The Wheat which is used to create flour is harvested and processed under special care and many, many chemicals, fungicides, and fertilizer all of which add up too about (83)  many of these chemicals have been  in studies shown to cause CANCER in animals or humans!:( When the wheat kernels are harvested the workers make sure everything stays cool so No fungal growth develops and contaminates the product ruining the whole crop.

Then the wheat kernels get striped of their Bran and "germ" layer - a process that removes all fiber, minerals, and vitamins. Leaving it Unnatural and basically worthless to our Natural Bodies. Then they take this brown natural colored flour and use a chemical similar to Chlorine Bleach called "ALLOXAN"to Whiten the flour. This chemical Destroys Pancreatic function.!!!

Now you all are understanding this right? our producers use 83 different chemicals, most which have been proven to cause cancers, and then add another chemical to aid in destroying our most vital organ our Insulin and enzyme Pancreas.???! Huh,  You have to wonder, why do we continue eating the stuff? and why is this process even still happening? it is called supply and demand, and until the Consumer says stop, and lets find another way to do this that is Natural we will all be subject to these Processed flours.

What can you do? Read the packaging, do not buy products that use bleached flours in them, eat more of a balanced diet, make more of your own food and less Processed Foods, cut back on fast foods and start 2014 out with the Greatest word ever invented"MODERATION" We all know what it means we just get too Lazy to do it, or too Busy, it is not Rocket Science but we do make it harder than it should be!

If all else fails Hire Divadish Personal Chef Services I will make sure you do eat right and when you realize how right feels you will say to yourself What took Me so Long!:)

MC Burger!!!!!

Divadish Kitchens & Catering

DIVA MC BURGER!!!!!

Divadish likes to mix it up, and here is one of those mix up's.... I call it my version of a MC Donalds Burger except a whole lot more tasty and better for you:)

I created this for one of my clients since he just loves burgers and I wanted to make him something good and delicious too.So I created this little Devil of a Burger. Here is what I did....

Recipe:
1 LB. of 80% Ground Chuck
1/2 Vandilia onion diced
1 Tbsp. of garlic powder
1 tsp. of seasoned salt
1 Tbsp of Mild Mustard
1 Tbsp. Ketchup
Mix all together till blended

Form into patties app: 1/2 Lb. each cook till 160' degrees which is med rare... add a slice of Colby jack cheese the last 1 minute or so till melted, take the hamburgers buns and let them sit on top of burgers in pan to soak up some of juice and moisture, flip them out into plates and serve with a salad, and seasoned french fries.

These are juicy, very flavorful and totally addictive...:) :) so get ready to be hooked and buy your hamburger from Big Steer Meat Market it is the Best and really made from Chuck ground daily....
Hope you enjoy this recipe,I certainly did and my client had the biggest smile when he ate them....:)

Lasagna New York!

Lasagna Diva's Style!

What do you get when you have pasta, meat, cheese and red sauce in layer after layer?

I call it Real New York Italian Lasagna... Not something made with cottage cheese, hardly any cheese and a slight taste of cardboard:( Stoffer's please stop calling it lasagna and showing that commercial too. It is embarrassing...:)
 for you not Me:)

Lasagna should be loaded with lot's and lot's of Ricotta, Cheeses, Meat, and delicious red wine sauce. It should be layered one after another of this mixture until it is almost too heavy to lift into the oven to bake:) I said almost I am sure your very strong husband can manage the lifting part:) Or maybe you are a I AM WOMEN Hear me roar type and can do it your own dam self!! I say go for it either way but don't skimp on the ingredients... It should weigh the amount of a small truck , because it tastes better that way. This is not Diet food here it is loaded with calories but they are all organic ones. And you do not need to eat half a pan of it too boot. So with that said a average size portion is app. 600-750 calories, add a side salad add another 125-200 depending if there is meat or cheese on salad and if it is a vinegar dressing or creamy one.So all total App. 1,000 calorie meal, not bad considering that Big Mac you ate for lunch has more calories more fat, sodium and just plain Junk Food Empty Calorie laden food. So go for The Gold, bring back the right Medal from YOUR VERY OWN FOOD OLYMPICS,,, reach for the phone and have the Diva deliver your Winning medal to your house... I be waiting by the phone now you hear?:)

meat with a side of T Bone?

Brandy Seared T Bone Steak

Divadish Loves good meat and preferably fixed Med-Rare, Yum.... Good organic farmed raised Beef can be eaten a little rare because it is so sweet and soft anyway because of how the cattle are being fed and grazed, it does make a BIG DIFFERENCE, just ask a cattleman or a qualified butcher. A Great meal starts with Great Meat! So when my daughter asks for Meat with a side of Meat I know what she feels like.. it is usually a steak... What else. ?!

Maybe it is the Vampire in all of Us that makes us crave meat? or maybe it is our Caveman Beginnings? who knows who cares when my Body says Feed me a nice Hunk of Meat I know what and where I an going for it. Yep my Local Butcher Big Steer Meat Market on corner of Minnehhaha in East Saint Paul. Yep Best little Meat Market in town and I don't mean average either, I mean equivalent to a New York City style and service exceptional! the only thing it is missing is the saw dust on the floors, that would make it Perfect then, oh well I can allow one little oops.

I get all misty eyed and a little fer clumped when I go in there to buy something special for myself or a client, all that gorgeous meat and the butchers in White uniforms and starched aprons with that splatter of blood on them makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, now that might sound a little weird to you? but when you were raised around great deli's, meat markets, farmer's, slaughter houses, it is only natural to get reminiscent of what all that is starring you in the FACE.:)

So when any of you's get that hunkering for Meat, go to Big Steer for your FIX, or call The Diva she will get it and Cook it for you's! Gotta Love it.....:)

Birthday Cake!

Like the song says Celebrate, Celebrate, let's party hardy. Okay not exactly the right words but you get my meaning. Life is worth celebrating, laughing, and sharing good food with all that maters.

This cake is one of those moments, I made it for a very special clients birthday and it was so delish. I so like making something wonderful for someone who also is the same. Similar to what a cake does for our taste buds when we take that first bite, it is the same with this person who it was for. He was akind, thoughtful person with not a mean bone or word in his body. It was all my pleasure to make it and it will be what I consider to one of the Best parts of my job, to make good food no matter what occasion to make that event the best it can be and most importantly to make everyone smile and rejoice in each other's company. Happy New Year everyone and please when you want the very best of what food brings please call Divadish.
Sincerely Gianna.
